Welcome to Camp Hope of New Jersey
Camp Hope, a beautiful 62 acre wooded retreat located on the shores of Greenwood Lake in West Milford, buzzes year-round with activity.
In July and August, the camp is filled with energy and laughter as hundreds of Passaic County's children converge at the camp to enjoy the fun and sun of summer.
While at Camp Hope, children have the opportunity to swim in the County's Olympic size swimming pool, create arts-n-craft projects, go paddle boating, play ball games and minature golf, take nature hikes, dance and so much more.
The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders sponsor all qualified children to attend camp free of charge. Camp Hope is run by a dedicated, well trained, and caring staff; many of whom were once campers themselves.
As summer camp ends and the school year begins, Passaic County's senior citizens reclaim Camp Hope as their own.
From September to June, senior groups from around Passaic County eagerly pack buses to visit Camp Hope. A day at Camp Hope is a day filled with good food, friends, and activities such as: bingo, dancing and live music, bocce, horseshoes, cards and lots of laughs.
The Tuesday Supper Club and a Line Dancing Program are also popular programs for the seniors. Each month the camp celebrates a different theme, except for the two constant themes which are " We're All Irish in March", featuring Camp Hope's famous Corned Beef and Cabbage, and "October fest" during the month of October when we encourage all Passaic County seniors to visit and view the beautiful fall colors.
The Camp Hope Commission, the Freeholder Board and the camp's professional staff jointly run this fine County facility. Camp Hope is currently in the midst of a multi-year renovation project of all the camp's cabins.
